This is a romance set in the German countryside. From the opening chapter, one can learn that a certain rather beautiful Fraulein and a certain young and very handsome dragoon have had some kind of interaction. While every male head turns to stare at her as she drives past the fashionable cafe where all are gathered, this one studiously reads his paper and pretends not to notice her.
